Hagymatikum Baths

Hagymatikum Baths is a remarkable thermal bath and wellness complex in Mako, Csongrad County, Hungary, widely regarded as one of Europe's most extraordinary examples of organic architecture. Designed by Hungary's celebrated architect Imre Makovecz as his final and largest work, the 12,000-square-metre building features iconic onion-shaped wooden cupolas referencing Mako's agricultural heritage and a 10-metre carved Tree of Life column rising through the central atrium. The complex offers 15 pools fed by therapeutic Mako medicinal thermal water, a nine-sauna world, and a medical department utilizing both the renowned thermal water and the area's distinctive Maros medicinal mud for treating musculoskeletal, joint, and gynaecological conditions.
