Rudas Baths

Rudas Baths is one of Budapest's most celebrated historic thermal spas, with origins dating to the 16th century when it was built under Ottoman rule by Sokollu Mustafa Pasha between 1566 and 1572. At its heart is the ancient Turkish bath, featuring a soaring octagonal dome that filters coloured light through star-shaped skylights onto the central pool below — an atmosphere of timeless grandeur. The medicinal waters, drawn from three springs known as Hungaria, Attila, and Juventus, are rich in sulfate, magnesium, sodium, calcium, and fluoride, traditionally used to ease joint conditions and calcium deficiency. The complex includes several thermal pools at varying temperatures, a plunge pool, a celebrated rooftop pool offering panoramic views of the Danube and Budapest skyline, sauna, steam room, and a wellness area with massage services.
